Newton Wayne Bridges, 82 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC.  

Mr. Bridges was born on October 7, 1940, the son of the late Bertha Edwards Bridges and Craig Bridges.  

He was also preceded by his wife Jean Berry Bridges and sisters Betty Worrick and Shirley Doughtie and his brother Billy Bridges.

Surviving include his son Johnny Bridges of Roanoke Rapids, his daughter Lori Newsome of Mooresville, his sister Brenda Bradley of Gasburg; his grandchildren:  Brandon Gregory, Owen Bridges, and Sam Bridges.  

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Wrenn Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Yeatts officiating.  

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 – 8:30 PM on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
