Public Health in Action: The Halifax County Public Health System acquired a new 15-passenger van to assist with addressing transportation barriers for the clients we serve.
Prior to COVID-19, the health department was able to provide transportation to clients to clinics that expressed a need for their scheduled appointments.
Due to distancing guidelines and in effort to reduce potential exposure, the agency had to halt its transportation services temporarily to ensure the safety of its clients and staff.

With the pandemic having come to a halt, the health department resumed its services in July of 2023 with the need for a new van due to the lifespan of its current one.
The Halifax County Public Health System is accepting new patients for all of our clinical programs!
We provide primary health care for patients ages 0-20 while serving all other ages for the following programs: Family Planning, Maternal Health, STD Services, and Immunizations. Transportation is available to our patients on Tuesdays and Thursdays for all clinical programs, as well as Friday for maternity clients.
