The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Baseball team defeated South Granville on Friday night by a score of 10-0.

Braxton Coggins started and picked up the win on the mound.  Bennett Liverman came in and pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

Leading Hitters for Roanoke Rapids were Caleb Elias with 2 hits and 1 RBI, Josh Coker with 2 hits and 2 RBI, Maddox Bullock with 2 hits and 2 RBI, Austin Geary with 1 hit and 1 RBI, Jon Lewis Temple with 1 hit (double), AJ Strickland with 1 hit, Drew Williams with 1 hit and 1 RBI, and Colin Clements with 1 hit and 1 RBI.

Coach Mark Snead stated, "I am proud of the way our team is playing right now.  We are getting strong pitching, defense, and offense.  The team is playing together really well.  We have a group of guys with a great work ethic and team chemistry.  Now we just have to keep working hard to improve each day and keep having fun."

RRHS improves to 6-0 on the season and in the Northern Carolina Conference. 

The next game for the Yellow Jackets will be on Wednesday May 19 at home versus Warren County.  Game time is set for 6pm.
