The Halifax Academy Vikings Women's soccer team start out the 2020 season on a positive note with 2 wins and a loss.

The Lady Vikings knocked off Ridgecroft on this past Tuesday by a score of 9-0 with Whitney George leading the way with 5 goals and 1 assist. Holly Forsht had her first career hat trick of 3 goals and Amber Markham rounded out the scoring with her 1st goal of the season.

The first loss of the season came Friday against Wayne Country Day School from Goldsboro by a score of 5-0. Kallie Barnes and Caryn Aycock played well in goal.

Saturday saw the team get back on track with a 9-0 shutout against Lawrence Academy from Merry Hill, NC. Whitney George had another productive game with 6 goals and an assist. Holly Forsht found the net once and added 2 assists. Amber Markham rounded out the scoring with 2 goals and assist.

Halifax coach Tim George stated. "Overall the team has improved each game with several players being asked to play in new positions and it just takes time to get comfortable with their new roles."

The Lady Vikings take the field Monday at home against Rocky Mt Academy at 4pm.
