RRPD blotter: November 20-22, 2015

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday November 20, 2015

At approximately 10 p.m., Master Officer Gorton Williams and officers Jeffrey Mason and Dale Strickland responded to a suspicious activity call on Mullen Drive.

Mason recognized Arkies Ty-kill Sommerville, 18, of Littleton, as having an outstanding order for arrest.

Mason arrested Sommerville on the outstanding warrant and also charged him with resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer for giving the other officers false information about his identity.

Sommerville received a $2,000 bond and January 22 court date.

Saturday November 21, 2015

At approximately 10 a.m., Officer Ryan Cross responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Shyquon Dayvon Brown, 17, and Marquis Zacchaeus Manning, 17, both of Roanoke Rapids, allegedly took items from the store without paying.

Cross arrested and charged them with larceny, possession of stolen goods and conspiracy.

They received $1,000 bonds and December 18 court dates.

Sergeant Richie White assisted.

At approximately 6:15 p.m., Cross responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Willie Lewis Burgwyn, 58, of Roanoke Rapids, allegedly took items from the store without paying.

Cross arrested and charged Burgwyn with larceny and possession of stolen goods.

He received a $500 bond and December 18 court date.

At approximately 9 p.m., Williams responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Ryan Nathaniel Medlin, 21, of Roanoke Rapids, allegedly took items from the store without paying.

Williams arrested and charged Medlin with shoplifting by concealment of goods.

He received a $2,500 bond and January 22 court date.

At approximately 11 p.m., Lieutenant Jeff Baggett and Mason responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 1300 block of Washington Street.

During the investigation Mason found Lashawn Lamont Harris, 41, of Roanoke Rapids, had drug paraphernalia in his possession.

Mason cited Harris for possession of drug paraphernalia and he was released until his January 22 court date.

Sunday November 22, 2015

At approximately 1 a.m., Sergeant Mike Moseley conducted a traffic stop on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway.

Moseley determined the driver, Cory Jermon Adkins, 28, of Roanoke Rapids, was impaired.

Moseley arrested and charged Adkins with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, fictitious registration, open container and insurance violation.

Adkins received a $1,000 bond and a January 11court date.

Williams assisted with the stop.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., Officer Adam Salmon was on routine patrol when he noticed a vehicle parked in Emry Park.

During the interaction with Jomar Ohnja Squire, 27, of Roanoke Rapids, he discovered the man was in possession of narcotics.

Salmon cited Squire for possession of marijuana.

He was released until his January 11 court date.

At approximately 1:45 a.m., Baggett conducted a traffic stop on Highway 125 near Interstate 95. Baggett determined the driver, Abra Earl Banks Sr., 54, of Roanoke Rapids, was impaired.

Baggett arrested and charged Banks with driving while impaired and he was released to a responsible party until his January 22 court date.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., Officer Joey Spragins responded to a larceny call at Tractor Supply. A witness told Spragins Lionel Nail Davis, 54, of Weldon, took items from the store without paying. Spragins arrested and charged Davis with habitual larceny and possession of stolen goods. Davis was also served an outstanding order for arrest.

He received a $12,000 bond and December 18 court date.

Lieutenant Charles Burnette assisted.

At approximately noon, White responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

Loss prevention reported Liberty Sharira Burgess, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, allegedly took items from the store without paying.

White arrested and charged Burgess with larceny, possession of stolen goods and trespassing.

She received a $1,000 bond and December 18 court date.
