A Tarboro man is wanted on felony larceny counts after allegedly failing to do work for a victim in Hobgood and taking items from the house.

Detective Harold Phillips of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said Milton Ray Draughn, 58, of Tarboro, is believed to be in the Tarboro area.

Phillips declined comment on what items were taken as well as the dollar amount he allegedly bilked the victim out of by not completing the work.

Draughn was hired to paint the inside of the house and do other odd jobs. After the items were taken Draughn never returned to finish the job he was hired to complete and left the house in worse shape. Calls made by the victim to Draughn went unanswered and messages were not returned.

The matter was reported on the first day of June and Draughn has yet to be located. He is likely in the area of Tarboro's Main Street and may be painting homes or businesses in the area.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at at 252-583-8201; Phillips at 252-578-9742; Central Communications at 252-583-1991 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
