RRPD blotter: February 20-22

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

Friday

Around 6 a.m., Master Officer Chris Babb stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.

During the contact with the driver, John Mills III, 37, of Roanoke Rapids, Babb found Mills to be under the influence.

Babb arrested and charged Mills with driving while impaired, open container and possession of marijuana. Mills was given a $500 bond and a March 13 court date.

Around 8:30 p.m. Officer Jamie Hardy was checking on a suspicious vehicle at the Fifth Street Boat Landing.

Hardy came in contact with Trenton Ray Strickland, 20, and Sarah Renee Hodgin, 18, both of Goldsboro.

Hardy conducted a search of the vehicle and found drugs and paraphernalia inside.

Hardy arrested and charged Hodgin with possession of cocaine. She was given a $1,000 bond and a court date of March 25.

Hardy cited Strickland for driving while license revoked, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and he was served with an outstanding criminal summons for a city ordinance violation. Strickland has an April 24 court date.

Saturday

Around 8:30 a.m., Master Officer Gorton Williams arrested April Smith, 30, of Gaston for larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Williams received information on February 16 about a lost or stolen wallet, the victim telling the officer that a bill was paid at a business on Premier Boulevard and the wallet was left on the counter. Williams identified Smith as the suspect in the larceny.

Smith was given a $300 bond and a court date of March 20.

Sunday

Around 2:30 a.m., Master Officer Roy Ball stopped a vehicle for an ordinance violation on Jackson Street.

During the interaction with the driver, Gerald Lewis Harris, 30, of Roanoke Rapids, Ball found Harris to be impaired.

Ball arrested and charged Harris with driving while impaired, open container and no operator’s license. Harris was released to the custody of a responsible person to return for court on April 13.

Around 10:30 a.m., Lieutenant Perry Parks stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Jackson Street. During the interaction with the passenger, Annette Charlene Scott, 52, of Roanoke Rapids, Parks found her to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Parks arrested and charged Scott with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

She was given a $1,000 bond and a court date of April 29.
