A 3-month-old child is alive today thanks to the efforts of Halifax County telecommunicators and first responders who helped the child's grandfather through resuscitation efforts in December.

Crossroads rezoning continued a second time

A motion which puts the former Carolina Crossroads outdoor concert site rezoning back on the agenda for city council's February meeting possibly saved the matter from rejection this evening.

A second person was arrested today in a Monday morning burglary where the alleged suspect was shot with his own weapon during an ensuing scuffle.

Intruder shot, charged in morning burglary

A home invasion in which one of the alleged intruders was shot remains under investigation and more charges are expected, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

The man believed to be the alleged suspect in a Saturday night pool hall shooting surrendered to law enforcement this evening.
