A Gaston man has been cited in a collision with a motorcyclist and his passenger Sunday, according to a preliminary report by the state Highway Patrol.

Trooper W.C. Wheeler charged Jonathan Hall, 32, of Old Emporia Road, with fail to yield causing bodily injury.
The collision occurred around 3:15 p.m. when Hall attempted to cross over State Road 1209 and failed to see a motorcycle driven by Robert Taylor of Roanoke Rapids who had Terri Cox onboard as a passenger. The motorcycle crashed into the front left bumper area of Hall’s 2002 Saturn, according to Wheeler’s report.
According to a news release by Gaston Fire and Rescue Chief Ed Porter Jr., Hall was ejected from his vehicle and found unharmed. Both Taylor and Cox were thrown from the motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson.
Taylor was reported to be in stable condition, Porter said in the statement, while Cox was found in critical condition.
The state Highway Patrol this evening said her injuries were not life-threatening.
Taylor was transported to Halifax Regional, Porter said in the statement, while Cox was treated by firefighters and Gaston and Northampton County EMS before being airlifted to Vidant in Greenville.
The collision closed the road for more than an hour.
