The state Highway Patrol has filed charges against two men in a fatal hit and run collision which reflect crimes allegedly committed prior to the victim being run over early Saturday morning.

Trooper C. Gall has charged Terrance Faulcon, 37, of Littleton, with assault and battery and involuntary manslaughter.
He has charged Irwin T. Edmonds, 28, of Roanoke Rapids, with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and involuntary manslaughter. Both men have August 17 court dates.
Gall said today troopers believe, based on statements from people at a party on Bacon Road, which is in the Littleton area, as well as the two men charged, Edmonds and Faulcon drove another person from the party home. Faulcon was a passenger in the vehicle.
They returned to Bacon Road and saw the victim, Jamiell Harvey, 27, on the side of the road.
Edmonds and Faulcon asked Harvey if he needed a ride to his home at 501 Faulcon Road.
The three had an argument. Gall declined comment on what the argument was about.
The verbal argument led to a physical assault on Harvey, both men allegedly hitting him with their hands. The two men charged, Gall said, “left him alive but possibly unconscious in the roadway,” near his house.
“We’re still unsure what vehicle struck the victim and ultimately killed him,” Gall said. “We need anyone to come forward who has any information pertaining to the vehicle that struck the victim.”
Troopers began investigating the case as soon as they received the call shortly after 5:45 Saturday morning.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the highway patrol at 252-536-2224 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
