Bonnie was born October 4, 1935 to Thomas and Irene Pilgreen of Martin Co.
He is preceded in death by his father Thomas Pilgreen, his first wife, Nina Johnson Pilgreen , a daughter, Shirley Pilgreen Taylor, and his brother, Donald Pilgreen, her sister, Jeanette Pilgreen, all of Scotland Neck, a daughter, Linda Burris, of Roanoke Rapids and a grandson, Eddie Ray Pilgreen, of Tarboro.
He is survived by his wife of 251/2 years, Retha Harper Pilgreen, his mother, Irene Pilgreen, of Scotland Neck, his sons: Mike Pilgreen and his wife Diane, of Tarboro, Doug Pilgreen and his wife, Sheree, and Jimmy Pilgreen and his wife, Janet, all of Roanoke Rapids. His daughters: Deidra Blanton and her fiancé Craig Warren of Roanoke Rapids, and Shondra Robertson of Raleigh. Granddaughters, Casey Pilgreen of Scotland Neck, Krystal and Stephanie Rose of Greenville, Tiffany Blanton of Greensboro, Jennifer Guevarra and her husband, Gerhard, of Fayetteville, Kristie Wommack and her husband, Ben, and Christina Burris of Roanoke Rapids. Grandsons: William “Fatboy” Pilgreen and his wife, Ashley, of Greensboro, Danny “Pee Wee” Pilgreen and his fiancée, Kacie of Wilmington, David Pilgreen of Greenville, and Daniel Pilgreen of Willow Springs. Great grandchildren: Mason Pilgreen of Tarboro, Kiyla Pilgreen of Wilmington, Liam, Gabe, Grace and Isabelle Guevarra of Fayetteville and Luci Wommack of Roanoke Rapids. His sisters: Mamie Braddy and her husband, Ashley, Sybil Harrel and her husband, Johnny, all of Oak City. Carol Farlough and husband, Tommie, Edna Taylor and husband, Phil, all of Tarboro. Brother: Jack Pilgreen and wife, Sandra, of Tarbor, Hal Pilgreen of Vanceboro, Randy Pilgreen and wife, Susie, of Williamston; A host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 26, 2010 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Pastor Adam Speight officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9 P.M. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the funeral home and other times at his home, 131 Easton Street. Burial will follow at Hobgood Cemetery in Hobgood.
