RRPD blotter: November 28-30, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:


Monday November 28, 2016

• Kiarra Rachelle Davis, 23, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 8 a.m. with larceny by employee.
She received a $1,000 bond and January 11 court date.
The charges stem from an investigation by Officer R. Cross after a business reported she allegedly took money while she was working.

• Nicholas Everette Pierce, 24, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 8 p.m. with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Pierce received a $500 bond and December 30 court date.
Master Officer R. Ball was following up on a drug complaint when he encountered Pierce and allegedly found him in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sergeant D. Jenkins and Officer J. Hardy assisted.

Tuesday November 29, 2016

• Ginger Daugherty Tripp, 36, of Roanoke Rapids, was cited at approximately 3:30 a.m. for shoplifting.
She was released until her February 13 court date.
Officer G. Colson responded to Walgreen’s where store staff reported she allegedly concealed items.

• Randall Syell Orlando Powell Jr., 17, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested at approximately 3:30 p.m. for two counts of larceny; two counts of possession of stolen goods and two counts conspiracy.
He received a $2,000 bond and January 13 court date.
The charges stem from a November 26 Walmart loss prevention report where several people took items and left.
An investigation by Cross and investigators J.K. Davis and C. Babb led to the identification of Powell.
Investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.

• Roger Dale Abernathy, 52, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 4 p.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
He received a $500 bond and December 16 court date.
Officer P. Smith responded to Walmart where loss prevention reported he allegedly took items.


Wednesday November 30, 2016


• Tom Lee Price, 43, and Tasha High Jacobs, 44, of Roanoke Rapids, were arrested and charged at approximately 7 a.m. for trespassing.
Each received $500 bonds and December 16 court dates.
Officer J. Spragins and Cross responded to a call at Food Lion on Roanoke Avenue about trespassers. When they arrived they found Price and Jacobs who had allegedly been banned in the past.

• Jennifer Lynn Richardson, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 10 a.m. for larceny and possession of stolen goods.
She received a $750 bond and January 6 court date.
Smith responded to Walmart where loss prevention reported Richardson allegedly took items.

• Brightstar Putney Mills, 51, of Roanoke Rapids, was arrested and charged at approximately 4 p.m. for hit/run, fail to report an accident, reckless driving and unsafe lane change after she surrendered at the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.
She received a $3,000 bond and January 18 court date.
The charges stem from an investigation by Trooper T.D. Forsht of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
