Mildred H. Harvell, age 93, of Weldon, died Wednesday, at her residence.

She was born in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Hezzie G. Hodges and Selena Clary Hodges.

Mrs. Harvell was a former secretary with the Roanoke Rapids school system; she was member of the Weldon United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Harvell was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Harvell, Jr. and a sister, Marion “Teeny” Hawkins.
She is survived by two sons, Jesse A. Harvell, III and his wife, Fran, of Halifax, NC, Robert H. Harvell and His wife, Joy, of Weldon, NC; brother, Hezzie G. Hodges,Jr. and his wife, Carol, of NewBern,NC; two sisters, Patricia Smith, of Lexington,NC, Gwen Sullivan, of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer M. Harvell and Robbie L. Harvell; great grandchild, Addison Harvell; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the Chapel of Wrenn, Clarke, & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening, Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Funeral Home, from 7:00 until 8:00.
