A retired seamstress, Alice was born in Jones County, the daughter of the late James Eli and Annie Taylor Stafford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Dobey; a daughter, Cathy Brown; sisters Betty Carol Coker and Joyce Ross; a brother, Buck Thomas Suggs; a granddaughter, Heather Richardson Gagnon, and a great granddaughter, Macie Nicole Gagnon.
Mrs. Dobey is survived by her son, Franklin Wayne Richardson and his wife Rhonda of Kinston; a sister, Mary Stafford Carter of Roanoke Rapids, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 24, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Wrenn, Clarke and Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Tim Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in New Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.
