A Nashville man is in custody and in the process of being booked on a count of armed robbery following the heist of the BB&T in Halifax this afternoon.

The robbery was reported around 12:56 p.m. and Jarrett Tywaun Davis, 30, was captured within a short period of time at the Super Saver store near the courthouse entrance on Ferrell Lane, Halifax County Sheriff Wes Tripp said.

Tripp declined to disclose particulars of the robbery but did confirm the charge of armed robbery shows probable cause a weapon was displayed.

Tripp said this was the third robbery of the Halifax bank during his career. “Of those, arrests were made.”

An undisclosed amount of money taken in the heist was recovered.

State Department of Public Safety records show Davis received a suspended sentence in 2013 for assault on a female in Nash County.
