Wilbur Joyner

Wilbur Joyner, 94, of Hedgepeth Road, Darlington, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Joyner was born December 10, 1923, in Greene County to the late Noah Joyner, Sr. and Emily Pate Joyner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Joyner.

He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a retired farmer. He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved to fish, read his bible and enjoyed watching Billy Graham on TV.

Wilbur is survived by his son, Sammy Joyner and his wife Janet of Darlington; his daughter, Doris Ivey and her husband Doug of Darlington; his granddaughters, Ashley and Abby Ivey; his brother; Noah Joyner and his wife Jane of Weldon.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Justin Carp officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:30 prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of his son, Sammy, 161 Hedgepeth Road, Halifax.
