Judith Tabitha 'Judy' Millikin

Julia Tabitha “Judy” Millikin, 59, peacefully passed away at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Black Mountain, NC on January 30, 2011.

Miss Millikin was born in Halifax County, the daughter of the late Almond Millikin and Jane Gregory Millikin.  She spent the first six years of her life in Weldon and then attended Caswell School in Kinston, NC where she resided for 41 years.  She then returned to Halifax and made her home at the Life Incorporated group home for ten years.  Her last two years were spent at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center.

Miss Millikin was preceded in death by her parents, Al and “Sweet” Millikin, her sister, Jane Millikin Elks, and her brother, Al Millikin.  She is survived by her sister, Patsy Millikin McClure and husband, Sam McClure of Franklin, NC, five nephews, two nieces, six grand-nephews and one grand-niece.

A memorial graveside service will be conducted at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 19th with the Rev. Caswell Shaw officiating.  Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements; and if the weather is bad, the memorial service will be held at the chapel in Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center Foundation-Gravely I, 932 Old US 70 HWY, Black Mountain, NC 28711-2547.
