Larry was born in Northampton County on August 6, 1947 to James Loyd and Carrie Ellen Coggins Parks.
He was a member of Bread of Life Church.
Larry retired from JP Stevens; he enjoyed helping people. He liked working on Heat 7 AC units, washers and dryers. He also loved cooking, especially chicken stew.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Finch Parks; daughter, Joanie Parks; sisters, Carlene Bryant, Elizabeth Hayes, Mebane Griffin, Virginia Webb and Hazel Harris; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Christy Parks, and 7 brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm Thursday, January 11, 2018. The funeral service will then be held at 2:00 pm from the graveside at Cedarwood Cemetery.
