Harry Edsel 'Buddy' Warren

Harry Edsel “Buddy” Warren, 73, of 9522 Highway 48, Littleton, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at his home.

Mr. Warren was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was a member of American Legion Shaw-May Post 38, and was a past member of Rheasville Fire Department.  He was a deacon at Quankie Baptist Church, and served in the United States Army in the European Theater.

He was born July 9, 1937, to the late Winfield Warren, Sr. and Ruth Liles Warren. He was also preceded in death by his son: Ricky Warren; his sister: Ruth Aycock; his brothers: Lynn Warren and Willis Reid Warren, and his sister-in-law: Winifred Warren.

Surviving Mr. Warren is his wife, Josephine; his son: Joseph B. Warren of Littleton; his daughter: Kim Johnston and husband Joe Mike of Roanoke Rapids; his daughter-in-law: Debra Warren of Thomasville, NC; his brothers: Winfield Warren, Jr. of Littleton, and Braxton Warren and wife Linda of Roanoke Rapids; his grandchildren: Amy Jeffries and husband Hilton; Joe Johnston, II and wife Shelly; Rhonda Dunlow and husband Jonathan; Richard Warren and wife Tammy; nine great grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maxine and Perry Bobbitt of Littleton; and his special close friends considered to be family, Dr. Gerardo Maradiaga and wife Malena and family, and many wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 7, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Hilton Jeffries and Rev. Sid Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home, 9522 Highway 48, Littleton, NC.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Relay for Life.
