Carolyn Liles Smith

Mrs. Carolyn Liles Smith, 70, passed away Tuesday, September 5, at her home in Cary, North Carolina.

Carolyn was born August 11, 1941, in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of the late Willis Johnston Liles and Louise Griffin Liles.  She was a graduate of East Carolina University and taught art in the Wake County School System.  She attended White Plains United Methodist Church of Cary.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Durwood Smith, of Cary; her daughter, Allison Atkins and her husband, Jonathan, of Holly Springs and her son, Trés  Smith of Cary; two grandchildren: Finley and Hollin; and her sister, Paula Liles Riggan of Aurelian Springs.

The family will receive friends at the home of Paula Liles Riggan.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Tabor United Methodist Church with Rev. Sid Collins officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may  be made to Tabor United Methodist Church, 16976 Justice Branch Road, Littleton, N. C. 27850, or to Rheumatoid Arthritis, Arthritis Foundation, 1330 W. Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30309 (866-528-8687).
