The Roanoke Valley U12 All-Stars won another nail biter this evening, beating Tennessee in seven innings, 7-6.

It was the second extra-inning game the team played, beating Augusta, Virginia, 5-4, earlier today in Holly Springs.

Jake VanDam pitched the first three innings with Cameron Salmon stepping in for the remaining four innings.

At the plate Salmon and Ethan Vincent were the top hitters both going 3-4.

Salmon was the winning run in the seventh by a hit from Vincent to the outfield.

Coach Ricky Jordan stated, "This is the best group of guys I have ever coached, even down 0-5, they never gave up. I am proud of them all.”

With five teams in the American division and the top two advancing with the top two from the National division to the single elimination bracket Saturday, Roanoke Valley is sitting in second place going into Friday morning’s game against Alabama.

Roanoke Valley and Alabama are the only two teams in the American Division undefeated while Gloucester Virginia is the lone undefeated in the National division.

Game four will feature Roanoke Valley going against Star Town from Western North Carolina.

Jordan said, "If we can get out bats going, we should have a good day at the park.”
