Roanoke Rapids police are looking for four blonde males who reportedly threw a Molotov cocktail onto the ball field at Emry Park Sunday afternoon.

The device caused a small brush fire, which the city fire department extinguished with a water can, Assistant Chief Ricky Dickens said.

Roanoke Rapids police said the fire was called in shortly before 3:15 p.m. Witnesses described the four males walking over to the ball field and throwing an object they lit on fire in that direction.

The men left the scene in what was described as a white, 1990s model Toyota Tercel that had stickers on the back and a spare tire on the left side.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-533-2810 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
