Chief Thomas Hathaway said the truck was stolen following a break-in at the car dealership on Tenth Street. Tools were also stolen and have not been recovered.
Employees discovered the break-in upon opening for business Thursday morning.
Hathaway declined comment on whether the break-in was related to one discovered in Weldon Thursday morning in which a $10,000 pig cooker and tools were stolen. The pig cooker was recovered in Murfreesboro.
Hathaway said police in Suffolk, Virginia, are investigating a similar break-in that occurred before the Toyota dealership break-in.
