Mrs. Smith a native of Halifax County was the daughter of the late Andrew David Fishel and Rosezettie Green Pittard. She was the widow of the late Willard Lawrence Smith. She was also preceded in death by a sister Virginia Pittard Elias and two brothers David Fishel Pittard and Albert Justice “Bobby” Pittard.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter Dianne S. Hamby and her husband Bill of Roanoke Rapids; sister Hattie P. Alston of Halifax; her grand daughter Melissa Jo “Missy” Savage Moseley and her husband Jason of Roanoke Rapids and her great grand child Adrienne Moseley.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Sidney Collins officiating. Burial followed in the Church Cemetery.

The family received friends at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids Tuesday from 7-8:30.
