Sheriff Wes Tripp said around 11:30 p.m. deputies received a call that a person had been shot at his residence on Zoo Road South.
Chris Emmanuel Harrison, 29, was found lying face down inside the residence near the front door. Tripp said it appeared the door had been kicked or force open.
Harrison, who was first found by his mother and his uncle, had a gunshot wound to the head and left side of his torso.
His mother and uncle went to the residence to check on his welfare, Tripp said without elaborating.
There have been no arrests made as the sheriff's office continues to investigate.
Meanwhile, the sheriff's office received a report this morning that in the same area, a body was found wearing mask.
At this point, Tripp said, investigators can't confirm it was related to the murder.
