Davie Chief David Padgett said it was too soon to determine what caused the fire. Three occupants escaped unharmedand three dogs were also not hurt.
Davie was dispatched shortly after 6:15 this evening and firefighters observed smoke and flames in the front bedroom. The fire was under control within 5 to 10 minutes, Padgett said. The flames never penetrated through the ceiling. There was smoke damage throughout the house.
“That door was closed to the bedroom which helped prevent the fire from spreading throughout the residence,” he said.
Approximately 20 firefighters responded.
