Detectives transported Jones, who was shot by a business owner the evening of December 27 after he allegedly broke into his business, to Halifax County.
There he was booked for numerous breaking and entering charges, that reflect counts inside the city limits of Roanoke Rapids, as well as the counts associated with the breaking and entering at Handy Rental where he was shot.
Jones faces charges of first-degree burglary, safecracking, felony larceny, first-degree trespassing, possession of a firearm by a felon, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Sheriff Wes Tripp said in a statement.
Roanoke Rapids Police Department charges include numerous counts of felony breaking and entering, felony possession of stolen goods, injury to real property, injury to personal property, attempted breaking and entering, larceny and larceny of a firearm.
No court date was immediately assigned.
