Over the next several weeks, Halifax County will host a series of community meetings centered on countywide parks and recreation needs.

These meetings are being held in partnership with the county Visitors and Convention Bureau, the Halifax Leadership Equity Project, the Halifax Recreation Network, the Community Transformation Project, the Recreation Resources Services and others.

These are the meetings rescheduled from the winter storm.

(A PDF of the flier is attached at the end of this story)

The meetings are the results of several months of discussions held across the county on recreation issues where the network met to discuss priorities related to recreation, and identified the need for a countywide plan.

A series of meetings will now give residents a chance for their input on what they would like to see.

All meetings will be held from the 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

Halifax and the town of Halifax: Thursday, March 6 at the Agricultural Center Auditorium on Ferrell Lane in Halifax at the courthouse complex.

Enfield: Monday, March 10 at the Enfield Municipal Complex, 200 Whitfield Street.

Scotland Neck: Tuesday, March 11 at the Scotland Neck Town Hall, 1310 Main Street.
