Of the people still wanted in the recent Southern Summer undercover drug campaign in Halifax County, one of them is Teddy Keith Anderson Jr. who is also wanted in the South Weldon murder of 15-year-old Keyuon Garner.

Sheriff Wes Tripp said this afternoon there was no evidence to suggest that the 18-year-old Anderson's alleged involvement in the local drug trade is connected with Garner's murder. It is believed the murder of Garner and the murder of 2-year-old Dy'Uanna Anderson on Cedar Street in Weldon August 5 are connected to beef at a local entertainment venue and a retail establishment in Roanoke Rapids.

Captain Anzell Harris of the sheriff's office this afternoon described Anderson as a reputed street-level dealer who reportedly sold cocaine to undercover agents on two occasions, once on March 31 and again on April 2.

Already wanted for the August 4 murder of Garner, in which two have been arrested, Anderson now faces two counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and two counts of deliver cocaine and sell cocaine, Harris said in a statement.

Tripp said authorities believe Anderson has fled the area to avoid arrest in the Garner murder.

Mitchell

As of this afternoon, Harris reported in a statement that around noon Agent D.C. Dickens arrested Travore Lavette Mitchell, 39, of Enfield, who was also wanted in the campaign.

Mitchell was arrested without incident at his Enfield home and was transported to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed.

Mitchell was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell cocaine, and deliver cocaine.

Mitchell was given a $2,500 unsecured bond with an October 1 court date.

Meanwhile, Harris reported the following are still wanted for alleged drug sales made during the Southern Summer campaign:

• Damien Terrel Little, 25, of Grace Street, Scotland Neck, for two counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell cocaine and deliver cocaine.

• Wilbert Jones Jr., 32, of Bell Street, Enfield, for two counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana and deliver marijuana.

• Edward Lee Davis, 33, of Weldon, for possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell cocaine and deliver cocaine.

• Adam Burgess, 37, who frequents the Roanoke Rapids and South Weldon areas, for possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, sell cocaine, deliver cocaine and manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 252-583-8201 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
