An employee in this class performs a full range of general law enforcement duties to protect life and property in the City. Basic Law Enforcement Training is preferred but not required.

NOTICE OF CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that the Roanoke Rapids City Council at a meeting held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 voted to continue the public hearing concerning the following item until the Tuesday, February 2, 2016 meeting at 5:15 p.m. at the Lloyd Andrews City Meeting Hall at 700 Jackson Street,. Roanoke Rapids, NC:
1. A rezoning request from Gil Cunningham (applicant and representative of owner of property Carolina Dirt, LLC) to rezone 83.2773+/- acres of property at 395 Wallace Fork Road from B-4 Commercial District-Entertainment Overlay District to I-2 Industrial District. The undeveloped property is located between Wallace Fork Road and Aurelian Springs Road and has been previously used as an outdoor amphitheater/concert venue. Industrial districts are established to accommodate manufacturing, processing, creating, repairing, renovating, painting, cleaning or assembling of goods, merchandise and equipment. As a result of public input, a less intense district may be considered. The City Council may make a final decision on or soon after January 19, 2016 public hearing. Any resident or property owner in the City’s planning jurisdiction may submit written statements concerning this matter. Please include your name and address on all written statements and submit to City Clerk Lisa Vincent at least two (2) business days prior to the City Council meeting deadline of 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28. After this deadline, citizens are encouraged to attend the public hearing to present comments.
