Boil Water Advisory Lift Notice

Consumers of the Halifax County Water System in the Hollister area were notified on 2/4/2026 of a possible problem with the drinking water due to low system pressure caused by a water main break. This notice was extended to the entire service area on 2/5/2026. Consumers were advised to boil tap water before using it as a precautionary measure.

The Halifax County Water System has taken lab samples and has confirmed there was no breach in the distribution system during the pressure loss that caused the advisory. Therefore, THE BOIL WATER ADVISORY IS LIFTED and it is no longer necessary to boil your water before using.
