Halifax County government and Halifax County Cooperative Extension have set the dates for the 2026 Harvest Days festival. 

Harvest Days will be held at the 4-H Rural Life Center on Friday, October 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., specifically for 4th and 5th grade students in any of the Halifax County public, charter, private or home schools, and Saturday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Harvest Days will wrap up the celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the founding of our nation this year,” said Beth Burchell, Halifax County extension director. “We will honor that history by once again hosting our colonial encampment from Historic Halifax, hearing the oral history of Patsy Young/Piety Cotton portrayed by Jackie Ruffin-Pittman, and having our Red, White and Run 5K on Saturday morning before the other festivities begin.”

Burchell said, “Halifax County Harvest Days will celebrate the wonderful world of agriculture, featuring farm animals, antique tractors, hay wagon rides, the agricultural museum and farmhouse, and educational exhibits, as well as local vendors selling delicious festival food and arts and crafts.”

There will be entertainment throughout the day on Saturday, including the headliner band, the Sons of Earl, performing from noon to 2 p.m.

Food and arts and crafts vendors are now being accepted with a reasonable vendor fee. Vendors should sign up early to secure a spot. Discounted early bird vendor fees are available for those who register by September 15.
