HALIFAX COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

NOTICE OF LEGISLATIVE HEARING

Pursuant to G.S. 160D-601(a) the Halifax County Board of Commissioners will conduct a legislative hearing on Monday, November 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room on the second floor of Historic Halifax County Courthouse, 10 North King Street, Halifax, NC, to consider a proposed zoning map amendment request from Halifax Aggregates, LLC, to rezone tax parcel #06-20086 from the LI light industrial district to the R-A residential agricultural district.  The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on the proposed zoning map amendment request, subject to policies adopted by the Board regarding the conduct of legislative hearings.  

Pursuant to G. S. 160D-603, any county resident or property owner may submit written comments concerning the proposed zoning map amendment to the undersigned clerk to the board not later than two business days before the vote on the proposed zoning map amendment, subject to policies adopted by the Board regarding receipt of written statements.  At this time, it is anticipated that the vote on the proposed amendment will take place on November 2, 2026, following the legislative hearing.
