On January 3, 2023, Halifax County Public Utilities issued a System Pressure Advisory for customers from the Highway 301 corridor south from Halifax, east to Scotland Neck advising consumers to boil all water used for human consumption once service was restored.

The system has been restored to normal operating conditions and Total Coliform sampling was conducted on Friday January 6, 2023. Results received on Saturday January 7, 2023, indicated no presence of Total Coliform in the distribution system.

The System Pressure Advisory issued by Halifax County Public Utilities on January 3, 2023, is no longer in effect. Consumers can resume normal consumption activities.
