The snow may have dampened the roadways, but it did not stop Roanoke Rapids "Valley Cheer" from taking Raleigh by storm today at the Dorton Arena (At NC State Fairgrounds).

All five teams were schedule to compete at Champions of the East/The All-School & Dance Championship in Raleigh starting early this morning, but weather and road conditions gave Roanoke Valley Cheer directors no decisions but to cancel the real early competitions of Tiny Tots and Mega Minis teams.

The three remaining teams, Junior 3 rock stars, youth 2 cover girls and Senior 2 Senior Ice took to the floor and brought home the hardware all winning 1st place. Senior 2 Senior Ice won overall level champions, and the Roanoke Valley Cheer program won the spirit of a champion award.
