Gaston College Prep. names new Middle School coach
Thirty-four year old Alan "Tuddy" Mitchell has been named Gaston College Prep. Middle School's new baseball coachl. Mitchell is married with two girls, they live in Roanoke Rapids and he is the City of Roanoke Rapids Public works street superitendent.
Mitchell is a gradute of Roanoke Rapids High where he played four years of baseball and followed with four years playing at Chowan University. Mitchell has worked with Roanoke Rapids Parks & Recreation for several years in sport programs, he has coach t-ball and umpired local recreation and NCHSAA games.
"I love the game and am excited to coach a middle school group of guys", stated Mitchell. Practice starts Tuesday so Mitchell will have only a few days before he hits the field as GCP's "COACH".
Gaston College Prep. athletic director David Cieslinski stated " We at GCP are please to have someone such as Mr. Mitchell as our baseball coach and look forward to him building a great program to prepair our guys for the JV and Varsity teams at KIPP High."
