Four Roanoke Rapids High softball members play against teamate in Travel ball and team wins USSSA State Championship
Nashville based U16 division travel softball team, Carolina Lookouts traveled to Kinston over the weekend in the "NC USSSA State Tournament". Four Roanoke Rapids High softball Sophomores players, Hunter Martin, Brooke McClenny, Jordan Carpenter and Sierra Hearp are team members. Brianna Allen who also plays for Roanoke Rapids High Softball played on the Triagle Lightning out of Raleigh in the championship game Sunday evening. The Carolina Lookouts went undefeated in bracket play heating into the championship game. The Lookouts lost that game 9-3 and because it being a State Championship game they played an if game against the Lightning and won 9-0 for the NC USSA state tournament and finished with a 6-1 record for the weekend.
Sierra Hearp and Hunter Martin took turns on the mound over the seven games.
