Halifax Academy JV girls basketball team hosted Rocky Mount Academy Thursday in the semi-final round of the CIC tournament.

It was a neck and neck physical ballgame from the tip-off until the final buzzer. Halifax was in double bonus before the 1st period was over. Halifax was 16 for 36 at the free throw line. Tied 17-17 at the half, the Halifax Lady Vikings closed the game with the win beating RMA 34-32. And are headed to the CIC tournament Championship Saturday morning at 10AM at Crossroad School in Henderson.

Halifax leading scorers were: Emerson Poole with 19 points, Ashton Garner with 8 points, Lizabeth Dickens with 4 points, Margaret Hudson with 2 points and Ashlynn Liles with 1 point.

Halifax Academy hosted the CIC Middle School Championship between Faith Christian and RMA before the Girls JV game.

Faith Christian went on a 18-0 run in the second half to get back in the game and in the closing seconds earn the win.

Both Faith Christian and Rocky Mount Academy were regular season co-champions.
