Clary's Speedway lost a racer and a friend of the sport this past Saturday night. During the feature PS 4 cylinder event driver Allen Moss had a spin out and was transported to HRMC were he later died. It is not believed his death is related to the the spin out. Track promoter Buddy Isles Sr. posted Clary's facebook page “as a former driver and now the promoter of Clary's Speedway I know Allen was doing what he loved to do with his weekend and that was racing. We at Clary's will miss Allen but never forget him either. R.I.P. Allen and keep watching from up above every week.”

Askew Funeral home optimist pitching machine team had three players who hit grand-slams this past Saturday. Peyton Clay, Braxton Hammack and Tamyas Price, while Matthew Mcnickles hit a home run in the 17-3 win over Given's Nationwide.

Sydney Connell of New Republic on the mound this past Saturday on Newsome Field in Roanoke Rapids as the Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League season came to regular season end. Kapstone defeated New Republic 13-2. No other scores reported.
