Laughter, games, and joyful memories filled the air Thursday at Halifax Community College as the CADA Head Start program hosted its annual Family Fun Day under the heartwarming theme: Building Childhood Memories That Last a Lifetime.
Families gathered on campus to celebrate the importance of early childhood experiences and family connection through an exciting lineup of traditional games and shared activities.
The event featured crowd-favorite contests such as tug-of-war, potato sack racing, and the classic egg-and-spoon race — all of which brought out the playful spirit in children and parents alike.

The day's highlight was the foam party, where kids and adults danced, laughed, and played in giant piles of fluffy soap bubbles.
The scene was a perfect blend of carefree fun and community joy, embodying the day's theme of creating lasting, positive memories.
This joyful event was planned and led by Latosac Crossen Brown, center director for CADA Head Start at Halifax Community College. “We wanted to create an event that brings families together through simple fun and shared laughter,” said Brown. “The smiles on everyone’s faces today show the power of these experiences in shaping a happy, healthy childhood.”
CADA Head Start at HCC continues to support early childhood development through engaging programming, strong family partnerships, and community-centered events like Family Fun Day.
