Halifax Community College (HCC) is proud to announce the second annual Progressive Communities Awards Dinner. The event provides an opportunity for community leaders and organizations to be recognized for their impact on the Roanoke Valley.

Three awards will be presented to deserving recipients during the course of the event.

  • · The Community Bridge Builder award, which is presented to individuals and organizations who strive to unite the community through their actions and deeds;
  • ·  The Faith in Action award, presented to religious organizations in the area who are living out their faith, working to demonstrate faith and love in the Roanoke Valley;
  • · And the Youth Impact award, presented to residents under the age of 18 who have tried to better the world around them.

The awards dinner will take place on Thursday, March 26, beginning at 6 p.m., and will be held in the Dr. Ervin V. Griffin Centre. Tickets are $25, and can be purchased by contacting the HCC Foundation at 252-536-5479. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Nominations must include the award title and at least one example of the nominee’s contributions. The nomination should also include examples of the benefits experienced because of the nominee’s efforts. The deadline for submission is Friday, Feb. 28, at 5 p.m.
