The Halifax Community College Foundation is proud to announce a new educational partnership with Enviva Northampton.

Enviva Northampton gave a $5,000 donation to the HCCF to support student scholarships.

The funds will be used to ensure future students, especially those with an interest in industrial systems, benefit from the educational opportunities available at HCC.

“We are delighted and honored by Enviva Northampton’s commitment to the students of Halifax Community College,” said Dr. Michael Elam, president of HCC. “Companies like Enviva provide jobs to our students and help keep the Roanoke Valley moving forward in innovation.”

“Enviva is happy to support and partner with Halifax Community College in the essential arena of workforce development through the RAMP East program,” said Chris Brown, the Mid-Atlantic community relations manager for Enviva. “Halifax President Michael Elam, together with his faculty and staff, does a tremendous job in creating curriculums that are meaningful to local, statewide and regional employers. The new construction that is currently underway and overall growth of Halifax Community College is a real positive for our area.”

Allen Purser, executive director of the foundation adds, “We are blessed to have several corporate partners. Halifax Community College is proud to partner with Enviva Northampton and secure funds for scholarships and much needed teaching aids. HCC is a wonderful opportunity for many citizens with the variety of educational choices. Companies like Enviva Northampton understand it takes an investment to grow results.”

The funds from Enviva Northampton will help match a $100,000 commitment from BB&T.
