Three days after the Warren County Board of Education failed to renew the contract of Warren County High School (WCHS) Principal Carolyn Faucette, more than 60 teachers, parents, students, alumni and others gathered outside the school system's central administrative office in Warrenton demanding answers about why the contract was not renewed.

The Scotland Neck Police Department reported the following:

• Marquesha Lowe, 19, of 604 East Twelfth Street, was charged Tuesday by Officer John Caesar with assault with a deadly weapon.

Chief Joe Williams said Lowe allegedly got into an argument with the manager of Lowe’s Foods and she pulled his box cutter from its holster and held it to his throat. She was allegedly caught shoplifting inside the store on May 23. The manager took out a shoplifting warrant the following day.

She was given a $200 bond and has a June 29 court date.

• Charged Parker Jonathan Watson, 41, of Fayettville, with DWI during a traffic stop. He allegedly blew twice the legal limit of .08, Williams said.

State Highway Patrol Internal Affairs will investigate allegations of domestic violence against a part-time Scotland Neck police officer. The town police department has suspended the man, whose full time job is a civilian employee at the Interstate 95 weigh station in Halifax County.
