North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission’s Executive Director Cameron Ingram has signed a proclamation outlining significant changes to the 2022 striped bass harvest season in the Roanoke River Management Area.
The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Captain Jamie Hardy:
A bridge on the Roanoke Canal Trail between Roanoke Avenue and River Road is out and will need replacing.
It was a project that started with an old boat ramp used to ferry prisoners across the Roanoke River to the former Caledonia prison on the other side of the banks in Halifax County, said Gary Gardner.
