A man wanted in the shooting death of a Garysburg man last week was apprehended in New York City Wednesday, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting death which occurred last month at a residence off Highway 46 outside Garysburg.
The railroad crossing in Halifax off Highway 301 near West Pittsylvania Street will be closed to traffic on Tuesday at 6 a.m.
Filing for political offices in Halifax County will resume February 24, board of elections Director Kristin Scott said.
