On Monday shortly after 6 p.m., Agent Corey Dixon of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office followed up on drug complaints and a suspicious vehicle in the Zoo Road area.

Dixon identified the vehicle and noticed what appeared to be a drug transaction.
Dixon stopped the vehicle on Blue Angel Road and identified the driver as Tony Allen Kearney, 61, of Roanoke Rapids.
Dixon seized 19 individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine.
Kearney was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine and maintain a vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance.
Kearney received a $10,000 bond and April 22 court date.
