The 249th signing of the Halifax Resolves is being celebrated today in Historic Halifax.

The weekend kicked off Friday with the unveiling of the quill pen monument on the courthouse square at the Historic Courthouse on King Street.

Today’s events include a reenactment of the discussions that led to the signing of the document, cooking demonstrations, distilling demonstrations, blacksmithing, and other activities.

Events conclude this evening at 6 with a free concert with the Chatham Rabbits in front of Historic Courthouse that includes a patriotic laser light show.
