NC MedAssist will host a Mobile Free Pharmacy event in Garysburg on June 27 — providing free over-the-counter medicine to individuals and families who may face financial barriers.

This event is free and open to the public and will be held at the Garysburg Community Center at 504 Highway 46. The time is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Individuals must be at least 18 years old to receive medicine and can select items that include, but are not limited to, pain relievers, cold and cough medicine, antihistamines, digestive aids, vitamins, and children’s medicines.

No identification, proof of residency, or income eligibility is required. There is no need to register; however, a preorder form is available online for individuals to make selections in advance.

All items are subject to availability.

The event also serves as an opportunity to identify individuals who may need and qualify for NCMA’s Free Pharmacy Program.

Residents of North Carolina who are uninsured and fall at or below 300 percent of the poverty level can enroll to receive prescription medications at no cost.

This event is sponsored by the Halifax County Area of Aging and Northampton County Office of Aging.
