Two policy advisors specializing in sustainable development will lead a free, hourlong virtual presentation to share information about ordinances and permitting in the solar development process.
The Center for Energy Education will host a webinar Tuesday, July 22, from noon to 1 p.m. featuring David Morley, research program manager with the American Planning Association, and Brian Ross, vice president with the Great Plains Institute, who will discuss ‘Ordinances and Permitting.
The discussion will explore the connection of solar energy and economic development within a rural community. The workshop will highlight the basics and challenges of large-scale solar development.
Morley, AICP, informs planners about smarter land-use practices and explains planning basics for public officials and engaged citizens manages research projects by sharing customized research assistance and contributing to educational publications and workshops.
Ross, AICP and LEED Green Associate, guides local, regional, and state governments and institutions toward meeting climate and renewable energy goals while guiding regulatory and programmatic policy for adopting solar and wind energy resources.
He also provides technical analysis and facilitates local decision-making and implementation efforts for sustainable development outcomes in land use, natural resources, economic development, and transportation.
