A brother and sister were arrested Tuesday in an April 4 assault, the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Detective Doug Pilgreen said the assault occurred in the area of Branch Avenue of Roanoke Rapids in the Lincoln Heights community.

The victim reported that approximately four weeks before the assault he had an altercation with Latia Lee.

On April 4, Terry Lee, Latia’s brother, and an unidentified male approached the victim and started assaulting him, Pilgreen said.

After the assault Terry Lee and the unidentified male got back into the vehicle with Latia Lee and drove off.

Tuesday Lieutenant George Evans and Pilgreen arrested the siblings at Creekside Court in Roanoke Rapids without incident.

Terry Lee, 26, was charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and was jailed under a $15,000 bond while his 32-year-old sister was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony and was jailed under $2,500 bond.

They have May 26 court dates.
